They stopped serving omakase at 8:45pm which is before the last reservation time. Out server did an excellent job selecting dishes that highlight Nobu's signature dishes similar to the tasting menu. Would highly recommend. The place was quiet but we went late Sunday night.

In the heart of the city, you can feel the heartbeat of the city. This is where you will find Nobu, they also have multiple locations around the world. I found myself early for my meeting with friends at another establishment and I decided to stop in for something light. The ingredients of the restaurant read: food, drinks, and vibes. I ended up taking myself out on a proper date. The waiter was friendly and professional. I ordered miso soup and yellowtail. The yellowtail dish was kindly altered and replaced with avocado. Presentation was quite lovely! The cilantro and dressings on the yellowtail were delicious. I find herbs to be electrical. The miso soup was prepared with veggie broth and made without butter. Seasalt is a darling as it helps awaken all the flavors and any meal. My experience here was magnificent. If they were trying to impress you me with delicious food--it worked. They were attractive all by themselves...the dishes that is. I look forward to returning for the yellowtail round 2 as it is good on any day ending in "y" and other dishes with a vegan twist. "You won't really be good at doing anything, until you learn to be good at being yourself."

I visited here again on 07/23/2024 with a party of five. As with my first visit, this was for a client meeting. Nobu is always good. The food is good, the service is great, the price is high. However, I can't complain about the price, because they are busy anyway. So, if they are getting the business, why should the price be changed? Another excellent visit, in a very convenient location in the Gaslamp district of San Diego.

Best place ever. Great service, sushi, black cod. Walking distance in downtown. Nicely decorated. Been several times. Never disappointed.

Service was impeccable, 5/5. Our waitress, Jane, checked on us multiple times during meal time. She and others explained to us the different Omakase courses. Atmosphere, 4/5. Good separation between tables. Courses were brought out in good timing. It got a bit too noisy toward the end of our meal as I couldn't hear what the waiter was saying. Food, 4/5. Sashimi was fresh and good quality. Black cod miso was delicious. I especially wanted to try this dish because I make this dish at home by following the Nobu recipe. I am not sure the portion is shareable or family style. We ordered a lot of food to make sure that we don't leave still feeling hungry as some people have mentioned. It was an enjoyable meal although a bit pricey.

Love this location close to home. They have Tanoshi (Happy) Hour which includes some of my favorite dishes and drink at a lower price. I loooooove the Lychee Martini and the Jalapeño Yellowtail. The okra is light and full of flavor. The ambiance is so beautiful with different styles fit for all types of party sizes. This includes a really nice main bar, a beautiful sushi bar, intimate lower tables across from main bar, and traditional tables in the main dining area. The lights are low. Music is in the background. I feel like I'm in my element. Since I like sitting at the bar, it's perfect for me. Every time I'm here the bartenders are great, suuuper attentive, and make the best drinks! This is sushi and service at its finest!

First things first-- Ariel was ABSOLUTELY amazing! I overheard he's worked for Nobu since 2018 and were we lucky to have him! Super knowledgeable, attentive, and overall amazing. Taylor (manager on duty) was also amazing! Whatever customer service training or hiring practices Nubo is doing needs to be replicated everywhere! The food was amazing, per usual. Our FAVORITE was the Cucumber salad, Yellowtail, and Salt & Pepper Squid. Everything else was good but those were the highlights. Oh, and the banana desert was delish! When we come back, we hope to get Ariel again and look forward to the food. Thank you for making our Baby Moon a success!

Came here for new year's dinner. It's been years since my last visit, so I was excited to try it out again after all this time. Our group decided to go with a set price per person. We were able to give our waitress a list of items we definitely wanted like the rock shrimp and sashimi, and the chef would figure the rest out. Nearly everything we had was good. The yellowtail jalapeño and rock shrimp were a hit, as was the black cod. The sushi platter was decent and pretty popular amongst my group, but I would have preferred some other items on the menu (like more of the yellowtail). The least favorite was salt and pepper a shrimp, but the hubby liked it! Drinks were tasty and service was good. Overall a pleasant experience.
